Meeting with Volodymyr Stancyshyn​

On August 5, at our invitation, our scholarship holders were visited by Volodymyr Stancyshyn, a psychotherapist, co-founder of the Laboratory of Changes psychotherapy center, author of many books, and host of the Bo. Love” podcast about relationships on Radio Skovoroda. We discussed very difficult but important topics for teenagers: gender and sexual orientation, sexuality, its formation and development, and gender-based violence.

This meeting was the idea of our scholarship holders Denys Dzhyhyris and Sofia Dubets, who wanted to address the topic of relationships and sexuality education.

Volodymyr explained complex topics in simple words and answered questions. It was very important for our teenagers to learn about the natural processes of the body, self-acceptance and tolerance towards others. That every person has one most important person, and that is themselves. Another important topic was how to recognize and respond to violence.

In their feedback, our scholarship holders emphasize that there are many frank topics that seem to be taboo, but here they realized that these topics can be discussed openly. Sexuality education is of great importance in the modern world, and they are glad that they had the opportunity to attend this meeting and would gladly come to another one.
